Salto relaunches Horacio Quiroga International Short Story Contest

The Salto Government and the National Directorate of Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture have announced the relaunch of the Horacio Quiroga International Short Story Contest. This special edition commemorates the 90th anniversary of the death of the renowned writer from Salto.

The competition aims to engage Spanish-speaking writers and literature enthusiasts on a national, regional, and international scale. Officials noted that the initiative serves both as a tribute to Quiroga and as a platform for creative expression. Submissions will be accepted from August 21 until December 23, 2026.
