Gabriel Ponce de León wins TC2000 race in La Pampa amid major accident
The TC2000 championship's sixth round at the Autódromo Provincia de La Pampa in Toay was marked by both high-stakes competition and a violent accident. Gabriel Ponce de León secured a victory after advancing from ninth on the grid, taking the lead following a penalty issued to Marcelo Ciarrocchi. Ponce de León finished ahead of Franco Vivian and Franco Morillo.
During the race, driver Tomás Fernández was involved in a significant crash. Fernández lost control of his Nissan Kicks, struck a wall, and rolled his vehicle. Although the impact was severe and caused significant damage to the car, Fernández was able to exit the vehicle under his own power, though he reported experiencing strong pain and was evaluated by medical staff for a potential rib fracture.
Other regional motorsport events also took place, including Tomás Campra's sixth victory of the season in Formula Nacional and various qualifying sessions for APAC and TC del Sudeste in Mar del Plata. In Uruguay, the Salto Run competition was relocated to Vaimaca Rugby Club due to rising river levels in the Uruguay River.
