Salud Total EPS launches WhatsApp service for earthquake-affected regions

Salud Total EPS has launched a dedicated WhatsApp line to assist more than 660,000 affiliates in the Colombian departments of Valle del Cauca, Risaralda, and Quindío. This measure follows a 7.4 magnitude earthquake on August 10 that caused significant damage and left over 330 fatalities.

The digital service allows users to request authorizations for medical consultations, procedures, and medications without traveling to physical offices, many of which remain closed in cities such as Cali, Pereira, and Armenia. To use the service via WhatsApp at 333 033 4094, affiliates must first update their contact information on the company website and have digital copies of their medical history and doctor's orders ready to attach to the chat.

Jorge Alberto Tamayo Saldarriaga, President of Salud Total EPS-S, stated the initiative aims to provide timely and simple management of medical services during the ongoing emergency.
