Saluzzo hosts Ges Schio choir to honor Toni Ortelli's legacy

The city of Saluzzo will host the Ges Schio choir on September 19 for a cultural event honoring the legacy of Toni Ortelli and his famous song, ‘La Montanara’. The visit serves as a precursor to the centenary celebrations of the song scheduled for 2027.

During the event, Anna Maria Damassin, the niece and testamentary heir of Toni Ortelli, will be officially named an honorary member of the Ges Schio choir. The relationship between the choir and the Ortelli family dates back to 1960, when the Municipality of Schio awarded the composer a gold medal.

The program includes a guided tour of Saluzzo followed by a public concert in Piazza Vineis, featuring a repertoire dedicated to Ortelli’s compositions.
