Saluzzo initiates participatory urban regeneration for via Spielberg

In Saluzzo, local authorities have initiated a participatory process to redesign via Spielberg, located between Corso IV Novembre and Piazza Dante. The project aims to support the city's candidacy for the Piedmont Region’s “Regenerative Cities” call, which offers European FESR funds to combat urban pollution.

Proposed technical improvements include safer sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, and the planting of native trees to provide shade and absorb smog. The plan emphasizes “slow mobility,” prioritizing pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport over cars, including the potential revival of a pedestrian shuttle service for students. The regional funding program can cover up to 90% of project costs, ranging from €250,000 to €5 million.
