Salvador: 80-year-old man attacked by unleashed pitbull

An 80-year-old man was attacked by a pitbull on the Stella Maris waterfront in Salvador. The incident occurred near a soccer court in a crowded area. According to family members, the dog was loose and not wearing a collar or muzzle.

The animal reportedly chased a man on a bicycle before changing direction and attacking the elderly man, knocking him down. Bystanders intervened to stop the attack. The victim was taken to Hospital Aeroporto for medical treatment; the extent of his injuries has not yet been disclosed.

Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances of the attack and the conditions under which the animal was being kept.
