Salvador adds two new bus routes to Mata Escura and Arraial do Retiro

On Saturday 1 August, the municipal mobility department of Salvador (Semob) began operating two new bus lines, numbered 2004 and 2005, from Terminal Retiro to serve the neighborhoods of Mata Escura, Bom Juá and Arraial do Retiro.

Line 2004 will run 23 trips on weekdays, with the first departure at 4:20 am and the last at 22:10, while line 2005 will run 17 trips, first at 4:50 am and last at 21:05. Both lines also operate on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. They replace the former line 1204 and provide the first regular service on Avenida Batatinha.

The changes respond to resident requests, aim to shorten travel times and improve integration between the bus network and the Bom Juá metro station.
