Salvador advances urban infrastructure and planning initiatives

Salvador Mayor Bruno Reis inspected the construction of the new Operations Control Center (CCO) in the Boa Vista do Lobato neighborhood. The project, representing an investment of R$ 130 million, is currently 90% complete and is expected to be finished by early 2027.

The CCO will centralize monitoring for various municipal agencies, including public transport (BRT), the Municipal Guard, traffic management, SAMU, and Civil Defense. The facility aims to allow real-time oversight of city occurrences to improve public policy efficiency and enhance public safety through integrated video monitoring.

In a separate urban development effort, the Municipal Secretariat for Urban Development (Sedur) is conducting the ‘Conecta PDDU’ initiative. This program facilitates social participation in the revision of Salvador’s Urban Development Master Plan. Through scheduled dialogues, various sectors—including real estate associations, housing movements, and environmental societies—can contribute suggestions regarding zoning, housing, and urban forestry to guide the city’s sustainable growth.
