Salvador, Brazil showcases cultural itinerary and 'ERAS' exhibition

A comprehensive cultural itinerary for Salvador highlights the historic Pelourinho district, the baroque Igreja de São Francisco, Mercado Modelo, Elevador Lacerda, Farol da Barra, Praia do Porto da Barra, local cuisine, the year‑round Carnaval, Afro‑Brazilian traditions and the city’s museums.

The photo exhibition "ERAS", running at the third floor of Shopping da Bahia until 31 July, presents 60 images in three sections – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. Historic photographs from public archives are paired with contemporary shots taken by members of ClickBahia Fotoclube, while AI‑generated images imagine Salvador a century ahead. The show covers neighborhoods such as Bonfim, Rio Vermelho and Barra and landmarks like Elevador Lacerda and Praça Castro Alves. Organized by ClickBahia Fotoclube with support from OPPO and the Brazilian Photography Confederation, the exhibition aims to provoke reflection on urban memory, preservation and future development. Visitor Antonio Nery Filho emphasized its educational value, and coordinator Antonio Vieira highlighted the project’s focus on cultural identity.
