Salvador City Council honors A Voz do Axé program

The Salvador City Council will hold a special session on November 4 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the A Voz do Axé program. Proposed by Councilman Sílvio Humberto, the session honors the program's decade of work, spanning from 2016 to 2026.

A Voz do Axé serves as a news portal dedicated to practitioners of African-matrix religions. The program focuses on increasing visibility for terreiro communities, promoting Afro-Brazilian culture, and strengthening Black identity. Its initiatives include the Informe Nordeste for regional social and cultural issues, Favela Empreende for peripheral entrepreneurship, Ajô das Pretas for Black women entrepreneurs, and the Festival Kids to encourage cultural access for children.
