Salvador expands public transport with new bus lines and BRT service
Salvador is expanding its public transportation network with new bus lines and a BRT connection. The Municipal Mobility Secretariat (Semob) announced that two new conventional bus lines will begin operating this Saturday. Line 1164 will connect Doron to the Centro de Convenções, serving areas such as Boca do Rio and Trobogy. Additionally, Line 1425-02 will run between Condomínio Dois de Julho and the Flamboyant Metro station, facilitating access to Avenida Paralela.
Starting Wednesday, a new BRT line, B6, will link Lapa Station to the Patamares neighborhood. This service will initially undergo an assisted operation phase from 9:00 to 16:00, with an average 10-minute interval. The route will utilize exclusive BRT corridors through Pituba Station before transitioning to mixed traffic along Avenida Octávio Mangabeira. Semob will monitor passenger demand and operational indicators during this phase to make necessary adjustments before full implementation.
