Salvador film festival opens call for entries

The third edition of the Ferrovias: Festival de Cinema do Subúrbio de Salvador has opened its call for entries. Filmmakers have until October 1 to submit works that maintain a connection to the Subúrbio of Salvador, whether through the origin of the creators, the subject matter, or the filming location.

The festival accepts fiction, documentaries, animation, experimental works, and music videos produced between 2000 and 2026. Short films must be at least 30 minutes long, while feature films must be at least one hour. Six productions will be selected for the festival program, which is scheduled to take place in November.

Established in 2023, the event aims to highlight narratives related to the former Railway Suburb of Salvador and uses cinema as a tool for cultural preservation.
