Salvador Herrero, a young bullfighter from Salamanca, secured the second spot in the semifinals of the Castilla y León Novilladas Circuit after delivering a commendable performance in Almazán and cutting an ear. He joins Jorge Oliva, the circuit’s first‑place qualifier, as the competition moves toward its final qualifying event scheduled for the upcoming Sunday in El Tiemblo.

In Seville, the first promotion round of the Ciclo de Promoción de Nuevos Valores was held at the Maestranza on 25 June 2026. Ignácio Sabater and Cristóbal de Lara each earned an ear, while Íñigo Norte and Armando Rojo received ovations for their strong capote work. The event highlighted a series of notable passages, including a well‑executed estocada by Sabater on the bull “Presidiario” and a striking finish by Rojo on “Rusito”.
