Salvador hosts health initiatives for Pink October awareness

In Salvador, Brazil, various initiatives are being held to promote breast cancer awareness as part of the ‘Outubro Rosa’ (Pink October) campaign.

The City of Salvador is organizing the 9th edition of the ‘Pedal Outubro Rosa’ cycling event. The activity aims to encourage women to prioritize their health and preventive care through sport. Participants are invited to a 10.5 km route, with a charitable component requesting the donation of non-perishable food items.

Additionally, the Superintendência dos Desportos do Estado da Bahia (Sudesb) organized a specialized martial arts session at the Waldemar Santana Boxing and Martial Arts Center. The event brought together practitioners of jiu-jitsu, judo, and karate to emphasize the link between physical activity, mental well-being, and cancer prevention.
