Salvador Illa considers legal action against Sílvia Orriols

Salvador Illa, the President of the Generalitat, has announced that the government is considering reporting Sílvia Orriols, leader of Aliança Catalana, to the Prosecutor's Office. The potential legal action follows Orriols' social media posts regarding the fatal stabbing of Carles Vilajosana in Manresa on September 1.

Orriols' posts on X (formerly Twitter) attributed the crime to a group of Moroccan minors, a statement that the government is evaluating as a potential violation of legal frameworks and the promotion of hate speech. The victim, a 45-year-old gardener and father of twins, was killed during the Manresa Festa Major. Two minors, aged 15 and 16, were arrested in connection with the incident.
