Salvador man detained for racial injury against traffic agent

A man was detained in Salvador, Brazil, following an incident of racial injury against a traffic agent. The confrontation occurred in the Santo Antônio Além do Carmo neighborhood after a traffic accident involving a luxury vehicle owned by Ramos Mingo, a defender for Esporte Clube Bahia.

According to the Military Police, the suspect became agitated due to traffic congestion caused by the accident and directed racial slurs at the public servant. The athlete involved was a passenger and was not involved in the verbal abuse. Neither the agent nor the athlete sustained injuries. The suspect was taken to the Civil Police's Central de Flagrantes and released to face the case in freedom. Transalvador issued a statement condemning the incident and stating they do not tolerate physical or verbal aggression against their employees.
