Salvador Mayor condemns assault on health agent

Salvador Mayor Bruno Reis has condemned an incident in the Coutos neighborhood where an endemic disease combat agent was physically assaulted while performing her duties. The suspect was arrested in flagrante after attempting to forcibly kiss the female public servant.

Reis described the event as “revolting, cowardly, and absolutely unacceptable,” emphasizing that no woman should face violence, particularly while providing essential services to the community. The Mayor pledged full support and assistance to the victim and called for a rigorous investigation to ensure the aggressor is held accountable under the law.
