Salvador Miqueri centenary concert in San Juan and flamenco mining book launch in La Unión

A tribute concert for poet Salvador Miqueri will be held on Saturday, 22 August, at the Teatro Oficial Juan de Vera in San Juan, Argentina. The program, featuring an ensemble led by Diego Gómez Dabrio and closing performances by Gustavo Miqueri with Trébol de Ases, marks the hundred‑year anniversary of Miqueri’s birth and will raise funds to buy instruments for rural schools through the Fundación Salvador Miqueri.

On 31 July, the second edition of the book "Libro Flamenco Minero de La Unión. Siglo XX (1900‑1940)" will be presented in the Casa del Piñón, La Unión, Spain, as part of the 65th Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas. The event, organized by Norberto Torres Cortés and professor José Francisco Ortega, honors the late researcher José Gelardo Navarro and explores the legacy of mining‑related flamenco traditions in the region.
