Salvador ranks as second most searched Brazilian destination for year-end holidays
Salvador has emerged as the second most searched city in Brazil for the 2026 Christmas and New Year period, according to a report by the travel search engine KAYAK. The Bahian capital follows only Recife in popularity, driven by a preference for coastal destinations. Other top-five cities include Maceió, Rio de Janeiro, and Fortaleza.
The report indicates that travelers are increasingly looking for seaside locations for outdoor leisure and cultural programming. For those seeking cost savings, KAYAK suggests that traveling on December 30 can reduce domestic flight costs by up to 27%. Regarding accommodations, the most economical dates identified are December 20 for domestic trips and December 21 for international travel.
In addition to domestic trends, there has been a 9% increase in searches for international flights by Brazilians compared to the previous year. While London remains the top global preference, Paris also shows significant interest.
