Salvador recognized as top travel destination and convention hub

Salvador has been named one of the 25 best destinations to visit in 2027 by National Geographic in its annual ‘Best of the World’ selection. As the sole Brazilian representative on the list, the city was recognized for its Afro-Brazilian culture, gastronomy, historical heritage, and major festivals such as Carnival and the Festa de Iemanjá. Its role as a host city for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup is also expected to boost its international profile.

In parallel, the Visit Salvador Destination agency has secured three major national congresses to be held between 2027 and 2030. These events, which include meetings for Metrology and Dermatology, are expected to draw approximately 10,800 participants. The agency is actively working to expand the city's presence in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) market through international trade fairs and strategic partnerships with event organizers.
