Salvamont rescuers rescue two Ukrainians in Maramureș

Mountain rescuers from Salvamont Maramureș successfully rescued two Ukrainian citizens who had crossed the Tisa River into Romania. The rescue operation took place near Valea Vișeului and the Repedea – Vârful Mic area.

The intervention was initiated after four other Ukrainian citizens reported finding a man with medical issues who was unable to move. Rescuers conducted a nighttime search, eventually locating a 26-year-old man sheltering in a derelict forest wagon approximately one kilometer from the initial reported location. The man was physically exhausted and showing signs of mild hypothermia.

During the return journey, the rescue team recovered a second Ukrainian citizen. Both individuals received assistance from SMURD medical crews and were subsequently handed over to the Border Police.
