Salvamont trainees begin national summer evaluations in Romania

Aspiring mountain rescuers in Romania have begun participating in the summer stage of the National Salvamont School evaluations. These rigorous assessments are part of a long-term professional training process required to obtain official mountain rescuer certification.

Participants from various regions, including Maramureș and Brașov, are undergoing intensive training that spans over a year. The curriculum involves hundreds of hours of preparation, including medical modules supported by DSU and IGSU specialists, climbing, off-piste skiing, and specific mountain rescue techniques.

The training aims to ensure rescuers can make rapid, correct decisions and perform interventions safely in difficult conditions, such as steep terrain, isolated areas, and severe weather. Successful completion of both summer and winter training stages is necessary for professional accreditation.
