Salvatore De Matteo arrested after supermarket robbery and car crash

Salvatore De Matteo, known locally as ‘o Sett, has been placed under house arrest following a series of disturbances in Santa Maria a Vico. The arrest followed investigations by the Maddaloni Police regarding incidents that occurred throughout the morning.

The events reportedly began with an altercation involving a local merchant that resulted in damage to a van. Later, De Matteo and a Polish national entered the Pro supermarket on via Generale De Lucia, where they allegedly stole beverages. This led to a confrontation involving threats and physical assaults against a cashier and other customers.

Following the supermarket incident, the two fled in a Lancia Y but were involved in a car accident after striking a parked vehicle. While De Matteo faces charges including aggravated assault, threats, resistance, and refusal to undergo sobriety testing, the Polish national involved was released.
