Milan and Ferrara courts oversee major criminal trials

In the Hydra trial at the Milan Court, Francesco Bellusci, known as ‘Occhi Celesti’, has testified as a collaborator of justice. He provided detailed accounts of the ’Ndrangheta’s operations in Lombardy, specifically in Legnano, Lonate Pozzolo, and Gallarate. Bellusci described how the criminal organization has evolved, maintaining ancient rituals and hierarchies while modernizing its financial operations across Switzerland, London, and Miami. He noted that traditional religious symbols are increasingly avoided to minimize evidence for investigators.

Separately, in Ferrara, the trial of former nurse Matteo Nocera has commenced. Nocera is accused of the voluntary aggravated homicide of 83-year-old Antonio Rivola at the Mazzolani-Vandini hospital in Argenta. The prosecution alleges Nocera administered the muscle relaxant Esmeron without therapeutic purpose. The court has admitted approximately thirty witnesses and issued an order prohibiting television cameras from filming the proceedings.
