Salvatore Pinto elected president of Elettricità Futura

Salvatore Pinto has been elected as the new president of Elettricità Futura, Italy’s primary association for the electricity sector. Pinto, an electronic engineer with an international career at companies such as Telecom Italia, Pirelli, and Olivetti, currently serves as the president of Axpo Italia and is the founder of the energy storage startup Green Energy Storage.

Pinto emphasized that the energy sector is facing significant geopolitical complexity and technological evolution. He stated that completing the energy transition is a necessity for Italy to strengthen national competitiveness, security, and supply autonomy while supporting economic decarbonization.

The assembly also appointed ten vice presidents representing various energy entities, including A2A, Cesi, TTEP Italia, Enel Italia, Dolomiti Energia, Engie Italia, Erg, Edison, Delos Service, and Eni. Additionally, three additional vice presidents were named from Iren, E.ON, and IVPC Service.
