Salvem les Valls seeks injunction against Olot bypass project
The environmental group Salvem les Valls has filed an administrative appeal with the High Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) seeking precautionary measures to halt construction on the Olot and les Preses bypass project.
The organization argues that the project poses a risk of “irreversible damage” to the fluviovolcanic aquifer, which is a declared Underground Natural Reserve. Salvem les Valls claims the approved route is harmful to both the environment and local residents. Furthermore, the group has criticized the administrative process for a lack of effective citizen participation and democratic engagement, stating that the territory should have been consulted to study alternative solutions.
The group emphasized that the request for precautionary measures is intended to prevent damage from excavations and intensive drainage that could occur before the court can rule on the merits of the case.
