Salvini proposes Milan primaries to resolve center-right candidate dispute

Matteo Salvini has proposed holding primary elections in Milan to resolve disagreements within the center-right coalition regarding a mayoral candidate. Salvini expressed support for Lega vice secretary Silvia Sardone, noting that while other leaders like Lupi and Tajani favor different candidates, the citizens should decide if a consensus cannot be reached in Rome.

Salvini suggested that if an agreement is not found, primaries could be held during the second weekend of November. He also indicated a willingness to hold primaries in other areas where no agreement exists, describing it as a democratic exercise. He remains confident of a victory against the left, provided the coalition acts promptly.
