Salzburg hosts Jazz and the City festival in old town
The ‘Jazz and the City’ music festival has concluded its four-day run in the old town of Salzburg. The event featured 140 artists performing across 20 different locations throughout the city, with free admission offered to the public.
Despite light rain during the festival's peak on Saturday evening, organizers reported full venues and high attendance. Roland Aigner, managing director of the Salzburg Altstadtverband, provided a positive assessment of the event's success.
Financially, the festival is largely supported by local businesses, with the Salzburg Altstadtverband covering approximately 80 percent of the costs. The remaining funding is provided through tourism promotion and private sponsorships. The festival concluded on Sunday afternoon with a performance by Ernst Molden and the Neuen Wiener Concert Schrammeln at the Salzburger Domquartier.
