Bremen court to begin trial for attempted murder
The trial against a 40-year-old man for attempted murder is scheduled to begin at the Bremen Regional Court on September 9. The defendant is accused of attacking his former partner on March 12 in Gröpelinger Heerstraße.
According to the prosecution, the man waited for the woman and inflicted 47 knife wounds to her face, causing permanent scarring. The attack included strangulation until the victim briefly lost consciousness. The motive is believed to be the defendant's desire to restore his 'honor' due to perceived infidelity. The court noted that the defendant's capacity for guilt may be significantly diminished.
