Salzburg Trailrunning Festival moves to Schloss Hellbrunn
The Salzburg Trailrunning Festival is undergoing a significant change for its 15th edition. Scheduled for October 23–25, 2026, the event will move its start and finish line to Schloss Hellbrunn. This new location will serve as a festival center, connecting Hellbrunn Palace, Hohensalzburg Fortress, Salzburg Zoo, and the Gaisberg mountain.
While the festival maintains its traditional mix of city and mountain elements, the new structure utilizes Schloss Hellbrunn as a central hub. The Hohensalzburg Fortress will remain the destination for the panorama and fortress trails on Saturday, while the Gaisberg will host the sporting activities on Sunday.
In the broader context of the sport, rising trailrunning talent Maximilian Meusburger, a member of the Salomon Next Gen Team, is gaining international attention. Meusburger and his trainer, Vincent Vermeulen, emphasize modern training philosophies, including the importance of low-intensity runs, heart rate control, and lactate measurements to achieve world-class performance levels.
