Salzgitter Mannesmann invests millions in new Mülheim facility

Salzgitter Mannesmann Grobblech GmbH has commissioned a new hot rolling machine at its facility in Mülheim, marking the largest single investment at the site in over 20 years. The 1,100-ton machine was specifically developed to manufacture exceptionally thick, high-strength steel plates.

These specialized plates are intended for use in the foundations and structures of offshore wind turbines. Through this investment, which involved a double-digit million euro expenditure, Salzgitter AG aims to expand its capabilities in sheet metal processing and strengthen its position as a partner for energy infrastructure markets.
