Salzzwerge opens in Dorsten as a family café and salt cave
Danielle and Daniel Kusch have opened ‘Salzzwerge’ in Dorsten, a new community hub designed for families. The establishment combines a parent-child café with a salt cave, offering play areas for various age groups and relaxation spaces for adults.
The project was inspired by the demand from parents at Danielle Kusch’s existing daycare service, ‘Zwergenwiege’, for spaces to host events like children’s birthdays. The couple spent approximately four months renovating the commercial property, performing much of the work themselves. The renovation included a comprehensive renewal of the existing salt cave, which involved grinding down Himalaya salt stones, installing new salt, and adding an ultrasonic nebulizer.
