Sam Altman and Mark Zuckerberg weigh in on AI, TikTok addiction and superintelligence

OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman told the Relentless podcast that he became "addicted" to TikTok while the company explored a video‑generation product called Sora. He said he initially limited his use to ten minutes a night, but once spent up to three hours scrolling and eventually quit, describing TikTok as “too powerful.”

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, writing in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece, said the coming years will let people use a superintelligence beyond human capacity to create, learn and improve lives. He warned that the real risk is not the technology itself but attempts to monopolise AI under the pretext of safety, arguing that “the idea of concentrating power to protect humanity is dangerous in itself.”
