Sam Bodoano runs 62 miles to attempt longest cricket run-up record
Sam Bodoano, a 22-year-old club cricketer from Surrey, has completed a 62-mile (approximately 100-kilometer) run to attempt the world record for the longest cricket run-up.
Starting from Lord's Cricket Ground in North London, Bodoano traveled to Valley End Cricket Club in Woking over a period of 14 hours. Throughout the journey, he remained dressed in full cricket whites. Upon arrival, he bowled a single delivery to his father to mark the conclusion of the run-up.
The challenge was undertaken to raise funds for the Ruth Strauss Foundation, a charity supporting families affected by non-lung cancer, successfully collecting more than £6,000. While the distance significantly exceeds the previous record of 15 miles, the attempt is currently awaiting official verification from Guinness World Records.
