Sam Bramman advocates for nitrous oxide law reform after addiction

Sam Bramman, a former 19-year-old student, is advocating for legislative changes regarding access to nitrous oxide, commonly known as nangs, following a severe addiction. Bramman describes how he initially perceived the gas as a harmless party drug, but quickly developed a dependency that led to a six-month period of addiction.

The addiction resulted in a drug-induced psychosis, during which Bramman experienced paranoia and erratic behavior. He reported driving while impaired, which led to a near-fatal incident on a highway. His condition eventually required him to be placed as an involuntary patient in a psychiatric ward in Tweed Heads, where he underwent treatment and sedation.

Since his recovery, Bramman has founded No2Nangs to promote law reform and raise awareness about the risks of nitrous oxide, which can cause neurotoxicity, hypoxia, and psychosis.
