Sam Byram joins Middlesbrough on free transfer

Sam Byram has joined Middlesbrough on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Leeds United. The 32-year-old versatile defender brings significant Championship experience to the squad, having previously secured promotion with both Norwich City and Leeds United.

Byram, a former Leeds Academy graduate, has also played for West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, and Norwich City. He expressed enthusiasm about the move, stating that he intends to use his experience to add quality to the Middlesbrough group as they aim for promotion. “I’ve been around this league for a number of years and had a couple of promotions in that time, so I know what it takes,” Byram said.
