Sam Laidlow and top rookies prepare for IRONMAN World Championship

As the IRONMAN World Championship approaches in Kona, top contenders and notable rookies are preparing for the race. Sam Laidlow enters the event with significant momentum following a course-record performance at IRONMAN Lanzarote and a major victory in Roth. During a recent press conference, Laidlow announced he will donate his prize money to ‘23 for the Future,’ an initiative supporting young athletes, guaranteeing a minimum of 23,000 Euros.

On the rookie front, several athletes are highlighted as potential podium contenders. Swiss athlete Julie Derron is noted for her high caliber and recent strong performance in Nice. Canadian Paula Findlay is also drawing attention following a dominant victory in Lake Placid earlier this year. The field includes established names such as Kristian Blummenfelt and Gustav Iden alongside these emerging talents.
