Sam Lammers nears PSV return following agreement with FC Twente
PSV Eindhoven and FC Twente have reached a verbal agreement in principle for the transfer of striker Sam Lammers. The 29-year-old, who previously came through the PSV youth academy, is expected to return to the club.
Negotiations reportedly faced hurdles regarding Lammers' salary and an initial asking price of 3.5 million euros from FC Twente. However, a breakthrough was reached after the requested fee was lowered. Lammers is scheduled to undergo a medical examination on Monday, August 31. If the examination is successful and final details are settled, he is expected to sign a multi-year contract with PSV.
At FC Twente, Lammers had recently seen his playing time reduced, falling to a third-choice striker role behind Wout Weghorst and Lucas Vennegoor of Hesselink. For PSV, the acquisition addresses a need for attacking depth following injuries and squad limitations.
