Sam Neill's Final Film Role Confirmed in The Legend of Zelda Live‑Action

Australian actor Sam Neill, best known for his role as Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park, died on 13 July 2026. Posthumously, it has been confirmed that he completed his part in the upcoming live‑action adaptation of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda, slated for worldwide release in April 2027 and to stream on Netflix. The film is a joint production by Nintendo and Sony, directed by Wes Ball and written by Derek Connelly with input from series creator Shigeru Miyamoto. While the specific character Neill portrays has not been disclosed, speculation points to the role of King Rauru.
