Sam Osborne announces retirement from BTCC

Sam Osborne, a driver for NAPA Racing UK, has announced his retirement from the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) after eight seasons. His final appearances will take place during the season finale at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix.

Osborne joined the BTCC grid in 2019 driving an MG 6 for Excelr8. He later competed with MB Motorsport in a Honda Civic before joining Alliance Racing in 2021, where he remained for the duration of his career. His career highlights include a 15th-place finish in the 2024 Drivers’ Championship and a notable victory in Race 3 at Silverstone.

In his announcement, Osborne noted that he is a “dad-to-be” and reflected on the journey since he first entered the series. His retirement follows a similar announcement by teammate Tom Chilton.
