Sam Smith has released their fifth studio album, titled ‘Hazel Eyes’. The project is the result of three years of work and reflects significant personal changes, including the artist's move from the United Kingdom to New York City and their recent engagement to fashion designer Christian Cowan.

The album features a musical blend of 70s-style blues, folk, R&B, and outlaw country. Smith collaborated with producer Simon Alfred and included features from artists such as Feist and the Two City Chorus. The title ‘Hazel Eyes’ is a tribute to the eye color of their fiancé.

In addition to the new music, Smith has reflected on past controversies surrounding the ‘Unholy’ era, noting that they received support from industry peers like Madonna during periods of intense public scrutiny and criticism.
