Sam Smith releases fifth studio album “Hazel Eyes”

British singer-songwriter Sam Smith has released “Hazel Eyes”, their fifth studio album. The project marks a significant creative shift, as Smith has taken on the role of co-producer for the first time, working with a consistent group of collaborators throughout the recording process.

Developed over three years, the album was inspired by personal life changes, including falling in love and relocating from England to New York. The musical style is described as an organic blend of baroque pop, British folk, country, and alternative R&B. The tracklist follows a narrative arc of a relationship, beginning with “Everlasting Love” and moving through themes of devotion and vulnerability.

In conjunction with the album release, Smith has introduced the single “Constant Companion”, featuring guitars and strings by Rob Moose. The release coincides with the “To Be Free” world tour, which began last autumn in Brooklyn.
