Sam Taylor-Johnson discusses relationship with Aaron Taylor-Johnson

Director Sam Taylor-Johnson has discussed her relationship with actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, addressing the 23-year age difference between them. The couple met in 2008 while filming ‘Nowhere Boy’, at which time Aaron was 18 and Sam was 42. They did not begin their relationship until the project was completed.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Sam noted that she does not feel the age gap, highlighting that Aaron has been working in his profession for 30 years, having debuted on stage at age six. She described him as having a ‘wiser and more unique perspective’ and noted that his stability provides a balance to her own ‘restless, crazy energy.’

The couple married in 2012 and have two daughters, Wilda and Romy. Sam also has two older daughters, Angelika and Jessie, from a previous marriage.
