Sam Wood charged with domestic violence and strangulation

Fitness trainer and former ‘The Bachelor Australia’ star Sam Wood has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting. The charges follow an alleged assault on his wife, Snezana Wood, in Noosa on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Court proceedings indicated the incident occurred during an argument while Mrs. Wood was packing to leave the residence. Mr. Wood’s lawyer, Mathew Cuskelly, confirmed a bail application will be made in the Supreme Court following a failed bid for freedom in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court.

Fellow former ‘Bachelor’ star Matty J (Matthew Johnson) expressed his shock at the allegations, stating he felt “ashamed” to have once viewed Wood as a role model. Johnson clarified that while their paths crossed due to their television history, he was never a close friend of Wood, noting that the allegations “contradict the image many of us had” of him.
