Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama arraigned in Abuja for alleged funding of ISWAP and Boko Haram

Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama was arraigned before the Federal High Court in Abuja on four terrorism‑related counts, accused of concealing information about attacks and of soliciting, collecting and handling funds to finance the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Boko Haram. The charges allege that he used the pretext of negotiating the release of kidnap victims to raise money from the public, and that he provided material assistance and dealt in terrorist funds.

Kaigama pleaded not guilty. Justice Salim Ibrahim ordered him to be remanded in the protective custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) with access to his lawyer and family, and adjourned the case until 24 September for the trial to commence.
