Samajwadi Party leader Rajan Rizvi arrested in Aligarh

Police have arrested Samajwadi Party leader Rajan Rizvi from Aligarh in connection with a harassment complaint filed by a female bank employee in Mathura. Rizvi, 38, had been absconding since a case was registered on September 16.

The complainant alleged that Rizvi, who reportedly visited the bank as a customer, obtained her private mobile number and sent objectionable messages. The allegations included monitoring her activities and promising to make her an IAS officer through a political quota if the Samajwadi Party formed a government.

Following the complaint, the Samajwadi Party removed Rizvi from his position within the party's minority wing. Authorities are currently investigating the matter using electronic surveillance and mobile evidence to verify the claims.
