Samajwadi Party to release 2027 UP election manifesto on Constitution Day
Political activity is intensifying in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav announced that the party will release its 'Jan-Man Manifesto' on November 26, 2026, to coincide with Constitution Day. The manifesto, referred to as the 'Resolve of Twenty-Seven,' will focus on the party's 'PDA' political formula, which targets backward classes, Dalits, and minorities.
To complement the state-level platform, the SP plans to release separate, district-wise manifestos addressing local issues such as agriculture, employment, and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the Congress party is reportedly discussing its strategy for a potential alliance with the SP, with leaders considering a demand for 125 to 140 seats.
Akhilesh Yadav has raised allegations of electoral malpractice, claiming the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is conspiring to add fake votes to electoral rolls and delete genuine opposition votes. He specifically cited instances of duplicate entries in voter lists. In response, BJP ministers have criticized the SP, urging the party to present a record of its previous governance rather than making allegations.
