Samaúma II school boat provides solar energy training in Amazonas

The Samaúma II school boat has been deployed to provide professional training in solar energy across various municipalities in the Amazonas region. Through the Manaós Solar 4.0 project, a partnership between BYD Brasil and the National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI), the initiative has trained 367 residents in Tefé, Coari, Codajás, and Parintins.

With an investment exceeding R$ 1.1 million in research, development, and innovation, the program focuses on photovoltaic solar energy, electricity, information technology, and Industry 4.0. The mobile educational structure allows technical training to reach riverine communities that are often isolated from major urban centers and have limited access to vocational courses.

This training addresses local energy challenges where many areas rely on expensive and logistically complex diesel generators. Solar energy is being promoted as a sustainable alternative to improve electricity access in these remote locations.
