Samaná residents protest persistent power outages

Residents of the El Arroyo sector in the El Limón district of Samaná took to the streets, burning tires and dumping debris on roads to draw attention to constant electricity interruptions that they say disrupt homes, shops and daily life. The demonstrators called on the agencies responsible for power supply to engage in dialogue and restore a stable service.

A similar protest occurred in La Chorrera, a community in the Arroyo Barril district, where locals also burned tires and blocked traffic to pressure authorities for a solution to prolonged outages. Both groups expressed frustration over the lack of response from police and electricity providers and warned they would continue demanding a permanent fix.
