Samanda de Lula pledges to advocate for Mossoró health expansion

Senate candidate Samanda de Lula has committed to advocating for the expansion of the Liga Mossoroense de Estudos e Combate ao Câncer in the Brazilian National Congress. The initiative aims to secure federal resources and support for specialized SUS (Unified Health System) services in Mossoró.

Key demands presented to the candidate include the consolidation of pediatric oncology and pediatric intensive care units (ICU), the expansion of the Rare Disease Reference Service, and the development of new high-complexity areas. The agenda also calls for new diagnostic equipment, specialist training, and physical expansion of the institution.

The Liga has recently been recognized by the Ministry of Health as a Reference Service for Rare Diseases. The proposed expansion requires coordinated efforts between municipal, state, and federal governments to ensure public investment reaches the interior of the state.
